    CERTIFICATION

    PMP Certification Exam

    Upon completion of the course, you will have to apply and then be scheduled to take an exam. The PMP Certification Exam comprises of questions encompassing 10 different areas of Project Management which include topics such as Initiating the Project, Planning the Project, Executing the Project, Monitoring and Controlling the Project, and Closing the Project.

    The PMP Certification Exam takes approximately 4 hours and will comprise of 175 questions. Take note that there are 25 unscored questions as well. The passing rate to get your certificate is 61%.

    PMP Certification Renewal

    Like other professional licenses, you would need to renew your license in order to be considered as PMP certified. In the case of PMP licenses, these last for three years. During this period, PMP professionals are required to acquire at least sixty (60) Professional Development Units (PDUs) during the course of the three year period.

    Upon acquisition of the 60 PDUs, those who would like to renew their PMP licenses would need to pay for a renewal fee as well as to renew their oath to abide by the PMI Code of Conduct.

      Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ) About Project Management Professional (PMP) Certifications

      Being PMP certified will include you in an illustrious list of only around 500,000 individuals around the world who are sought after by top companies due to what they can bring to the table. Not only that, but PMP certified employees are paid, on average, 20 to 30% more than those who are not certified.
      Applying for a CAPM, PMP, or PMI license is independent of each other. You can get any of the licenses one at a time in any order or even all at once for as long as you have completed the requirements and have passed the exam.
      PMP Certification Exams can either be taken at a physical location or via a website. For the latter, there will be a proctor that will monitor you via an application. Onsite exams are also closely monitored. You can refer to LIWDS for more details regarding testing locations upon application to take the exam.
      Congratulations! You are now a Project Management Professional. Your certificate will be emailed to you six to eight weeks after passing the exam via mail.

      You can take the PMP Certification Exam up to three times for one year after completing the requirements and upon applying to take the exam. Should you be unfortunate enough to not pass, you will be asked to apply again.

      Professional Development Units, or PDUs, are required in order to renew your PMP license. At least sixty (60) units of PDUs are required, and these translate to roughly 60 hours of education or using your knowledge to “give back”.
